About 55 Hudson Yards
55 Hudson Yards was first named One Hudson Yards, and also One Hudson Boulevard. This skyscraper is in Manhattan's Hudson Yards area, but outside the boundary of the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project. It rises on the east side of 11th Avenue between 33rd and 34th Streets, west of Hudson Park and Boulevard and next to 50 Hudson Yards and to an entrance of the 34th Street subway station. It has 51 stories: the top floor is mechanical, with office space on the fifty floors beneath. Its floor area is 120,000 m2 (1.3 million sq ft), and it cost US$1 billion.
Eugene Kohn and Kevin Roche designed it, in the first joint effort between their two firms. The site had been planned for the canceled World Product Center, and was earlier home to a FedEx World Service Center building. Construction started on January 22, 2015. The tower uses a concrete frame instead of a steel one, chosen to make construction faster and cheaper. It topped out in August 2017, and tenants began moving in during early 2019.
Early plans described a 56-story, 877-foot-tall building, but a late-2013 design change shrank it. Its facade drew on the cast iron fronts of SoHo buildings. It has destination dispatch elevators, corners without exterior columns that feature floor-to-ceiling windows, and 12-foot (3.7 m) ceilings. The building was certified LEED Gold on October 30, 2019, and a terrace on the tenth floor overlooks Hudson Park and Boulevard.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 64 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 80 mm | 1:3,000 |
| 256 mm | 102 mm | 1:2,344 |

- Wider base, slim shaft
- A broad base steps in to a tall rectangular shaft. A bigger print size keeps the change in width and the flat top clean, and printing slowly with good cooling helps the upper floors.
- Dense window grid
- The facade is a tight grid of horizontal and vertical lines. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps the grid crisp, and Full detail keeps every modeled line on larger prints.
- One piece with the ground
- 55 Hudson Yards is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 55 Hudson Yards takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
55 Hudson Yards is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a 55 Hudson Yards STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. 55 Hudson Yards grows with the print: about 64 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
