About 599 Lexington Avenue
In Midtown Manhattan stands 599 Lexington Avenue, a skyscraper with 50 stories and a height of 199 m (653 ft). The architects were Edward Larrabee Barnes and John MY Lee. It was the first New York City building put up by Mortimer Zuckerman, through his firm Boston Properties. The site cost $84 million in 1984, and the tower was completed in 1986. The building stands next to the Citigroup Center and is regarded as a well-designed fit with its surroundings. It was finished without an anchor tenant.
Inside, the lobby holds an artwork by Frank Stella titled Salto nel Mio Sacco. A subway entrance is part of the property too, leading to the New York City Subway station at Lexington Avenue and 51st Street, where a sloped glass canopy marks the entryway to the station. In 2016, a remodel by FXFowle Architects of the lobby, hallways and elevators aimed to light the artwork better and brighten the lobby.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Angled setback tops
- The upper stages have sharp angled tops. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print.
- Tall shaft, tight neighbors
- The tower stands in a packed block of tall buildings. A larger print size and 0.12-0.16 mm layers keep the floor lines readable.
- One piece with the ground
- 599 Lexington Avenue is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 599 Lexington Avenue takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
