About 60 Hudson Street
Once the Western Union Building, 60 Hudson Street is a telecommunications building of 24 stories in Manhattan's Tribeca area. It was built in 1928-1930 and is 371 feet (113 m) tall. It fills the block bounded by Hudson, Thomas and Worth Streets and West Broadway.
Its architect was Ralph Thomas Walker, of the firm Voorhees, Gmelin and Walker. The look draws on Dutch and German Expressionism, along with Art Deco touches, and it is made of asymmetrical masses with numerous setbacks. The brick facade shifts through nineteen distinct hues, from darker shades low down to lighter ones higher up, and several ornate entrances open onto a barrel-vaulted brick lobby.
Western Union's president, Newcomb Carlton, commissioned the building. At its opening, people called it the world's largest telegraph building, and it brought together divisions of the company that had been spread across New York City. Western Union moved elsewhere in 1973. The exterior and lobby were designated New York City landmarks in 1991.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Setbacks and dormers
- The massing is a set of stepped slabs with small projections on the setbacks. Print friendly adapts small projections to the print scale, while Full detail and a larger size keep them.
- One piece with the ground
- 60 Hudson Street is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 60 Hudson Street takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
