12 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Two linked towers
The model has two tall masses joined by a lower block, each with rooftop details. Print friendly adapts those details to the print scale; Full detail keeps more of them on a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
The Amalgamated Housing Cooperative is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Amalgamated Housing Cooperative takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Amalgamated Housing Cooperative
Known colloquially as The Amalgamated, the Amalgamated Housing Corporation is a limited-dividend housing business corporation in the Bronx, New York City. It was organized in 1927 under New York's 1926 State Housing Law on behalf of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers, a socialist labor union based in Manhattan. Its original flat-roofed building rose in 1927 at Van Cortlandt Park's southern edge.
The complex grew in stages. Tudor-style clusters were added from 1927 to 1932, followed by a building in 1941, a small flat-roofed one in 1947, concrete high-rises from 1949 to 1951, and two towers in the early 1970s that replaced the original flat-roofed building. In 1971, residents moved into the second of the two 20-story towers. The first phase had 303 units.
It was the earliest housing complex in the country founded under the original law allowing limited-dividend, limited equity housing. It later served as a model for much larger, state-sponsored limited-equity co-ops built after World War II, including Co-op City in the Bronx, Rochdale Village in Queens and Penn South in Manhattan. It forms the core of Van Cortlandt Village, between Van Cortlandt Park and the Jerome Park Reservoir.
