7 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Dormers on the sloped roofs
The steep roofs carry rows of small dormer windows, and the wings end in gables. Full detail keeps the dormers; Print friendly adapts them at small sizes. A 0.12 mm layer height keeps their outlines crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Angel Guardian Home, Brooklyn is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Angel Guardian Home, Brooklyn takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Angel Guardian Home, Brooklyn
The Angel Guardian Home was formerly named Angel Guardian Home for Little Children. It is a Catholic orphanage standing in Brooklyn, in Dyker Heights, on 12th Avenue and 64th Street. Its architect was George H. Streeton, and its style is given as Renaissance Revival and Beaux-Arts.
The Sisters of Mercy ran the home as a sister facility to their other orphanage in New York, called St. Mary's of the Angels. The first children taken in were sixty girls, all aged two to five. Boys were accepted from 1903, a nursery for infants was built in 1906, and foster care placements began the same year. A formal adoption program started in 1946.
In 1975 a group residence for teenage mothers and their children, the home's first outside its own site, opened. Then, in 2003, the home combined its administration with that of St. Mary's of the Angels, creating the MercyFirst network of agencies. On September 1, 2017, MercyFirst relocated its offices from the Angel Guardian campus to Industry City, in Sunset Park. The building became a New York City landmark on November 10, 2020.
