About Arizona Charlie's Decatur

Arizona Charlie's Decatur is a casino hotel for locals in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ernest Becker III and his relatives built a shopping center, Charleston Heights, along Decatur Boulevard in the 1960s. It had a bowling alley with 36 lanes, Charleston Heights Bowl, which opened in 1963. In the 1970s a son, Bruce Becker, began managing the bowling alley, and in the 1980s he suggested attaching a hotel-casino to it. The casino is named for Arizona Charlie (1860–1932), a distant relative of the Beckers who performed alongside Buffalo Bill in western shows.

Construction began in July 1987 and cost $18 million. It opened in April 1988 as a Western-themed property, its hotel having three stories and 100 rooms. Area residents had protested, arguing that it would bring more crime and traffic. In 1991 the Las Vegas City Council approved a hotel expansion of three six-story towers, but it would have meant closing Evergreen Avenue, and residents opposed that. In 1993 the plan was cut to a single seven-story tower. The bowling alley was removed, gaming carried on inside a temporary tent holding 375 slot machines, and the $38 million expansion opened in 1994.

The operating company, Arizona Charlie's Inc., went into Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1997, having put money into a riverboat casino project in Missouri that failed. Businessman Carl Icahn bought the property the next year and owned it for a decade, and Golden Entertainment acquired it in 2017. Its sister property, Arizona Charlie's Boulder, was called Arizona Charlie's East when it opened in 2000. The first property took the name Arizona Charlie's West and, in 2003, Arizona Charlie's Decatur.

Arched windows on the hotel front
Rows of arched windows and a central pediment mark the hotel front. Print friendly adapts these fine details to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print.
Small rooftop details
Many small boxes and vents sit on the low casino roofs. A bigger print size keeps more of them, and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep their edges clean.
One piece with the ground
Arizona Charlie's Decatur is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Arizona Charlie's Decatur takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
