7 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Gables and turrets
The roofline has many small gables and pointed turrets. Print friendly adapts the thinnest tips to your print scale, while Full detail keeps every one on larger prints. Slow printing helps the pointed tops.
- One piece with the ground
The Association Residence Nursing Home is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Association Residence Nursing Home takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Association Residence Nursing Home
The Association Residence Nursing Home is a historic building on Amsterdam Avenue, in the block running from 103rd Street to 104th Street, in Manhattan's Upper West Side. It was built from 1881 to 1883, and Richard Morris Hunt designed it, working in Victorian Gothic. It has since turned into a hostel operated by Hostelling International. The National Register of Historic Places listed it in 1975.
The Association behind it was founded in 1814 to assist widows of soldiers who fought in the Revolutionary War, or in the War of 1812. It bought the Amsterdam Avenue lot for $77,500 in 1881, and construction began that fall under contractor John J. Tucker. The building was completed in 1883 at a cost of $100,000, and the choice of location was influenced by an elevated railway being built one block west on Ninth Avenue.
In 1907 an addition went up at the property's south end, and its seven Tiffany windows are in the collection of the Morse Museum of American Art. Richard Morris Hunt studied in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts, the first American architect to do so. He also designed the Statue of Liberty's base.
