About the B. B. Moeur Activity Building
On the Arizona State University campus in Tempe, Arizona, the B. B. Moeur Activity Building was put up by the Works Progress Administration between 1936 and 1939. The National Register of Historic Places listed it in September 1985, earlier than the usual 50-year wait, for "exceptional" architectural and historical merit. No other WPA-built adobe building in Arizona is bigger.
Lescher & Mahoney, an Arizona firm, was the architect, and Arizona firms donated many of the materials. The walls used 50,000 adobe bricks. Both the adobe construction and the Federal Moderne style are described as unusual, and this is the campus's only Federal Moderne building. Concrete forms the structure inside, with adobe filling the walls, a method found in no other Arizona structure.
Benjamin Baker Moeur, a former governor of Arizona, gave the building its name; he died two years before the work finished. Its purpose when built was a women's activity center, with an auditorium and recreation room of 6,800 square feet (630 m²) ringed by a U-shaped corridor. Its plan is an H, with each wing reaching farther north than south. Administrative offices for the growing university moved in after the 1960s.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 3 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 4 mm | 1:3,000 |

- Low block, fine entrance columns
- This is a low, wide building with a row of slim columns on its entrance front. Full detail at a larger print size keeps the columns; Print friendly may merge them at small scale.
- One piece with the ground
- The B. B. Moeur Activity Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The B. B. Moeur Activity Building takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Common questions
Is there a B. B. Moeur Activity Building STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. The B. B. Moeur Activity Building grows with the print: about 3 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
