9 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Crenellated towers and spires
Two towers end in crenellated tops, and small spires stand at the rear. Print friendly adapts thin parts to your print scale; Full detail keeps them, better at a larger size.
- Round window and tracery
A large round window and rows of pointed windows decorate the walls. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps these lines crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help
In Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, a Marian shrine of the Roman Catholic Church, holds the rank of minor basilica. Its dedication is to the Blessed Virgin Mary, honored as Our Mother of Perpetual Succour. The Pontifical Decree Quamquam Christianus, issued by Pope Paul VI on September 15, 1969, raised it to minor basilica status. Bishop Charles Edward McDonnell established the parish in November 1892 to serve the area's residents.
The Redemptorists bought land between 59th and 60th Streets and between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, then a fairly rural area. The Morse family house hosted the first Mass, on Easter Sunday, April 2, 1893, and a wooden frame church was dedicated on January 14, 1894. Work on the existing church began in 1907. Its lower level opened for services two years later, and the upper church was completed in 1928. Franz Joseph Untersee of Boston was the architect.
Granite forms the church, which is Romanesque in style with a limestone exterior, and as a double chapel it has two floors of worship. Because of its size, it hosts major diocesan services such as ordinations, and it is often chosen for large funerals of New York City police officers and firefighters who fell in the line of duty. Chinese and Vietnamese Masses are celebrated there too.
