Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A long, low church

The basilica is far longer than it is tall, so most of its detail sits along the walls and the roof ridge; a larger print or Full detail gives those lines room.

  2. Layer height for the façade

Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the wall lines and the roof edges crisp, which matters on a print that is wide and shallow.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls

Rome counts St. Paul Outside the Walls among its four major papal basilicas, together with St. Mary Major, St. Peter's and St. John in the Lateran, and it also numbers the church among the city's Seven Pilgrim Churches. A Benedictine abbey adjoins it, and the church stands outside the Aurelian Walls at the place where tradition says Saint Paul was buried. The land is Italian, though the Holy See holds the basilica and counts it as part of the Vatican's extraterritoriality.

Among Rome's oldest church sites, it began with a basilica that Constantine the Great founded over Paul's burial place; Pope Sylvester consecrated it in 324. In 386 Theodosius I began a far bigger church, with a nave and four aisles. A fire on July 15, 1823 destroyed nearly all of the building. Pasquale Belli took on the reconstruction, and Luigi Poletti followed him in 1833; the church was reconsecrated in 1854.

It is 131.66 meters (432.0 ft) long, 65 meters (213 ft) wide and 29.70 meters (97.4 ft) high, and it keeps the old plan of a nave with four side aisles. It is the second largest church in Rome. Its nave carries 80 columns, and the ceiling of wood and stucco belongs to the 19th century; a Neo-classicist portico of the same period stands before the façade. From the ancient church, only the apse interior and its triumphal arch remain.
