24 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Stepped crown
The top of the tower steps back in several tiers, with small details along the crown. A larger print and 0.12-0.16 mm layers keep these steps crisp.
- A slender tall shaft
The tower is tall compared with its base. Print slowly with good cooling so the upper floors stay clean.
- One piece with the ground
The Beekman Tower is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Beekman Tower takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Beekman Tower
Midtown Manhattan's Beekman Tower, a 26-story Art Deco skyscraper, is also known as the Panhellenic Tower. It stands where First Avenue meets East 49th Street, and it went up between 1927 and 1928 to a design by John Mead Howells. Its massing includes numerous setbacks and chamfered corners, and the building fills its lot right up to the boundaries.
The tower was built for the New York chapter of the Panhellenic Association as a hotel and club for women who belonged to college sororities. Because patronage was low, by the mid-1930s it admitted women outside sororities, and men, too. It later became a hotel and then corporate apartments.
Rene Paul Chambellan designed the sculptural ornamentation, Art Deco in style, with some Gothic influence. Two plans for Chicago's Tribune Tower inspired the design and by the American Radiator Building, and its decoration came largely from geometric massing rather than ornament. The tower portion has a square floor plan with short setbacks. The city's Landmarks Preservation Commission named it an official landmark in 1998.
About this model
The Beekman Tower is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
