About the Bird Cage Theatre
In Tombstone, Arizona, United States, stood the Bird Cage Theatre, a theater that opened on December 26, 1881. Its owners were Lottie and William "Billy" Hutchinson. Billy was a variety performer who first meant to stage respectable family shows, the kind he had watched in San Francisco.
The plan did not last. After a Ladies Night with free admission for the respectable women of Tombstone, the owners found that the economics of the town did not support their hopes. They dropped it and turned to rougher entertainment for the mining crowd. Frontier gunfighters shot up the walls until they were full of bullet holes, and the building had 12 balcony boxes.
At the Grand Central Mine in March 1882, miners struck water 620 feet (190 m) down, and the silver ore deposits were soon underwater. After the silver mines closed, the theater closed too. Beginning in 1934, a coffee shop leased the space. Reports describe the building as haunted, and it features in the 1993 American Western film Tombstone.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Lettered arched front
- The street-facing front has arched openings and a lettered sign. Print friendly may simplify the lettering; Full detail keeps it on a larger print.
- Small building, small windows
- The building is low, with small windows along its sides. A larger print size and 0.12-0.16 mm layers help those details show.
- One piece with the ground
- The Bird Cage Theatre is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Bird Cage Theatre takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Common questions
Is there a Bird Cage Theatre STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. The Bird Cage Theatre grows with the print: about 3 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
