Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Pointed tower roofs

The corner towers end in thin cone roofs and the campanile in a pointed cap. Print friendly adapts these tips; Full detail keeps them and suits a larger print. Printing the tips slowly helps.

  2. Rows of arched windows

Long walls carry many small arched windows and gables. A smaller print merges them into texture, while a larger print and a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keep each arch readable.

  3. One piece with the ground

Boys High School, Brooklyn is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Boys High School, Brooklyn takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Boys High School, Brooklyn

In Brooklyn's Bedford–Stuyvesant neighborhood stands Boys High School, a public school building in the Romanesque Revival style, called "one of Brooklyn's finest buildings." It was built in 1891 along Marcy Avenue, on the west side of the street, in the block from Putnam Avenue to Madison Street. James W. Naughton designed it; at the time he was Superintendent of Buildings for the Brooklyn Board of Education. It is considered Naughton's best work, his "finest work."

Terracotta decoration is rich throughout, in a manner somewhat like Louis Sullivan's. Admired features include the round corner tower, the dormers and the soaring campanile. In 1975 the Landmarks Preservation Commission of New York City designated the building a landmark and ranked it among the city's finest Romanesque Revival buildings. The National Register of Historic Places added it to its list on February 25, 1982.

The school itself changed in 1975. Boys High joined with Girls' High School to create Boys and Girls High School, which settled in a new building on Fulton Street, at Utica Avenue. Years later, The Knick, a Cinemax medical drama, used the old building's exterior to portray Knickerbocker Hospital.
