Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Rows of arched windows

The long rows of arched windows and the stepped roof edge are shallow detail. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; a larger print or Full detail keeps more of the rhythm.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Bronx General Post Office is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Bronx General Post Office takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Bronx General Post Office

Thomas Harlan Ellett designed the Bronx General Post Office, also called the Bronx Central Post Office or the Bronx Central Annex. This historic building stands on the Grand Concourse in the South Bronx. It was finished in 1937 for the U.S. Post Office Department and went on to serve as a Postal Service branch. It fills a whole city block, with a granite terrace on every side.

The basement facade is granite, and the rest is gray brick with marble arches. Two sculptures stand beside the front doors facing the Grand Concourse: Henry Kreis's The Letter and Charles Rudy's Noah. The lobby holds a series of 13 murals by Ben Shahn and Bernarda Bryson, painted for the Section of Fine Arts of the U.S. Treasury Department. Of the whole building, only the lobby is customarily open to the public.

The Bronx first sought a central post office in 1902, and the land was acquired between 1910 and 1913. Ground was broken on June 13, 1936; the building opened on May 15, 1937, under the name Bronx Central Annex, and took the name Bronx General Post Office in 1963. New York City designated both its facade and interior as landmarks, and it holds a place in the National Register of Historic Places.
