Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Ornate facade and rooftop details

The street facade is richly carved, and two long roofs carry small raised vents. Print friendly adapts those fine details to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, better on a larger print with a 0.12–0.16 mm layer height.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Brooklyn Academy of Music is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Brooklyn Academy of Music takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Brooklyn Academy of Music

BAM, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, is a multi-arts center whose progressive and avant-garde programs of theater, dance, music, opera and film are spread across several venues close together. It received its charter in 1859, staged its first show in 1861 and has operated from its current Fort Greene location since 1908. After its earlier building burned down on November 30, 1903, BAM planned a move to Fort Greene.

Herts & Tallant designed the new building, and on May 25, 1907, its cornerstone was set at 30 Lafayette Avenue. The Peter Jay Sharp Building contains the Howard Gilman Opera House, with 2,109 seats, and the BAM Rose Cinemas. U-shaped, in the Renaissance Revival style, it has two theater wings flanking an open court, rising above the first story. Its high gray granite base carries cream-colored brick with terracotta trim and touches of marble.

Opening events took place in November 1908, and the Metropolitan Opera's Faust was the first opera presented. In 2004 the facade at 30 Lafayette Avenue was restored. In 1978 the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission created a historic district named for the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and it includes the Sharp and Fisher buildings.
