20 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Small rooftop cupola
A small domed cupola sits on the roof, with a hipped roof around it. Print friendly adapts these to the print scale; Full detail suits a larger print, and a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps the dome smooth.
- Dense window grid
The facade is a tight grid of windows. A larger print size keeps more of the grid readable.
- One piece with the ground
The Brooklyn Municipal Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Brooklyn Municipal Building takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Brooklyn Municipal Building
Its full name is Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Municipal Building, and this Brooklyn civic structure stands at 210 Joralemon Street in Downtown Brooklyn, New York City. McKenzie, Voorhees & Gmelin designed it, and it was built in 1924 at a cost of $5,800,000.
Inside are a branch of the city's Clerk office, with a detail of the Marriage Bureau, plus branch offices of the Environmental Protection, Finance, Probation and Buildings departments. The Landmark Preservation Commission signed off in July 2012 on upgrades to the lowest few floors along with extensive commercial signage, and renovation work in 2016 covered two cellar levels and two floors.
A 2020 announcement said the building would take the name of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Ginsburg was born in Brooklyn and grew up there. The renaming took place on March 15, 2021, at a ceremony attended by the mayor, the borough president of Brooklyn, and relatives of the justice, who had died.
