14 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Roof pipes and fine cornice
The renders show thin pipes or chimneys on the roof and a detailed cornice. Print at a larger size or use Full detail to keep them, and cool the top layers well.
- One piece with the ground
The Brown Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Brown Building takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Brown Building
The Brown Building, owned by New York University, is a ten-story building on the NYU campus. It occupies 23–29 Washington Place in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, stretching from Greene Street across to Washington Square East. John Woolley designed it in the neo-Renaissance style, using an iron and steel structure, and it went up in 1900–01. It took the name Asch Building from its owner, Joseph J. Asch.
The building is best known for the fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory on March 25, 1911, in which 146 people died. The factory, owned by Max Blanck and Isaac Harris, occupied the top three floors, and most workers in the building were female immigrants. Its "fireproof" rooms drew many garment makers to the Asch Building, including the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. A Triangle Fire Memorial is located there.
In 1991 it entered the National Register of Historic Places; it also gained National Historic Landmark status that year. In 2003, on the fire's 92nd anniversary, it also became a New York City landmark. Many garment workers there were immigrants who had come to the United States seeking a better life, but they worked in harsh conditions at the factory.
About this model
The Brown Building is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
