18 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Window grid and roof edge
The school is a rectangular block with a grid of small windows and a lightly detailed roof edge. Print slowly with good cooling for the upper floors; a 0.12-0.16 mm layer height keeps the window grid crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Chapin School is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Chapin School takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Chapin School
The Chapin School is an independent day school for girls only, on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Its address is 100 East End Avenue, where it meets East 84th Street, and every one of its programs runs under a single roof. The school has occupied this address since 1928.
In 1901 Maria Bowen Chapin started Miss Chapin's School, a girls' school with a kindergarten that took both boys and girls. It began with 78 students and seven teachers. It grew out of a small elementary school that Chapin and Alice Wetmore had founded in 1894, aimed at preparing young girls for the Brearley School, established ten years earlier. High school diplomas were first granted in 1908, and boys last attended in 1917.
Chapin stayed on as headmistress until 1932, and at her request the school took the name Chapin School after her death in 1934. Before reaching East End Avenue the school had stood at 12 West 47th Street, then moved to East 58th Street in 1905 and to East 57th Street in 1910. Its motto is Fortiter et Recte, which means Bravely and Rightly.
About this model
The Chapin School is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
