11 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Rose window and front towers
The front tower has a large round window and two small octagonal towers beside it. Print friendly adapts these small parts to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on larger prints.
- Long steep roof
The long pitched roof dominates the model from above. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps the roof edges and the front detail crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Church of St. Vincent Ferrer is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Church of St. Vincent Ferrer takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer
In Lenox Hill, on Manhattan's Upper East Side, the Dominicans built the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer where Lexington Avenue meets East 66th Street. It is a Catholic parish church, and the priory attached to it is the headquarters of the order's Eastern United States Province. Its patron is Saint Vincent Ferrer, who was a preacher of the Dominican order from Valencia in Spain.
Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue was the architect, and he drew on 14th-century French Gothic, with Romanesque echoes, for this Gothic Revival church. The cruciform building is limestone. Facing Lexington Avenue, a five-bay tower has two octagonal towers beside a large rose window, with a tall round-arched entry below it. A carved Crucifixion above the entrance is one of the few that appear on the outside of an American Catholic church. The roof is steeply pitched copper, and inside, oil paintings show the Stations of the Cross.
An earlier church was demolished in 1914 to make room for this one. Building it cost $1.5 million, and work was finished on October 22, 1916. The dedication took place on May 5, 1918. The church was first planned with a fifteen-story flèche, but a former stream under the site and the subway tunnels made a sufficient foundation impossible. William Schickel designed the priory. The city designated the church a landmark in 1967, and the church and priory were listed on the National Register in 1984.
