Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Small towers and buttresses
The two small towers and the buttressed walls add fine vertical detail to a church that is otherwise a simple long shape. A bigger print or Full detail keeps them; Print friendly simplifies them at small sizes.
- One piece with the ground
The Church of the Incarnation, Roman Catholic is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Church of the Incarnation, Roman Catholic takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Church of the Incarnation, Roman Catholic
The Church of the Incarnation serves as a Catholic parish church of the Archdiocese of New York. It sits in Washington Heights, Manhattan, at 1290 St. Nicholas Avenue, also called Juan Pablo Duarte Boulevard, where it meets 175th Street. People nickname it "the St. Patrick's Cathedral" of its Washington Heights neighborhood. Rev. P. J. Mahoney, the first pastor, founded the parish in 1908 in response to the city's rapid growth above 145th Street.
The present church is Gothic Revival, built of stone with buttresses and an apse, and was completed in 1928 to designs by W. H. Jones. It has two small towers. Inside, a white marble baldacchino from the time of the building is lit by stained-glass windows, a large rose window sits above the gallery at the West End, and two matching organ fronts with gold pipes look onto the gallery.
Ivan Illich reached the United States in 1951 and was soon an assistant priest at the parish. He worked with Washington Heights' large Puerto Rican community, arranging cultural events such as the San Juan Fiesta, which eventually evolved into the Puerto Rican Day Parade. The Incarnation School, at 570 West 175th Street, counts baseball broadcaster Vin Scully among its graduates.
