Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Octagonal tower and spire

The bell tower is octagonal and ends in a slender spire with a small cross. Print friendly adapts thin parts to your print scale; printing slowly helps the tip.

  2. Ribbed roof

Fine parallel ribs run along the roof slopes. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps them crisp, and a larger print size keeps more of them.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Church of the Transfiguration, Roman Catholic is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Church of the Transfiguration, Roman Catholic takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Church of the Transfiguration, Roman Catholic

A Roman Catholic parish, the Church of the Transfiguration occupies 25 Mott Street, at the corner of Mosco Street, in Manhattan's Chinatown. The building dates from 1801 and is in the Georgian style. It was first put up for Zion English Lutheran Church, whose congregation later moved over to the Protestant Episcopal Church. A fire in 1815 gutted it along with 35 dwellings nearby in the Five Points neighborhood, and congregation member Peter Lorillard's efforts led to its rebuilding.

The Archdiocese of New York bought the building in 1853 from the Episcopal congregation and moved the Transfiguration congregation here from Chambers Street. That parish traces its origins to 1827, when Rev. Félix Varela y Morales bought the former Christ Church on Ann Street as home for the fourth Catholic parish in Manhattan. In 1836 it moved to a Chambers Street church that had belonged to Scottish Presbyterians, which it renamed the Church of the Transfiguration. The parish has therefore occupied three locations, each time in a building first built as a Protestant church.

Of four Lower East Side churches built from Manhattan schist, this is one, and it has brownstone detail. Henry Engelbert designed a copper-covered, octagonal bell tower that was added in 1868, the year the Gothic windows are thought to have been added too. New York City designated the church a landmark in 1966, and the National Register of Historic Places listed it in 1980.
