About Circus Circus Las Vegas
Circus Circus is a hotel and casino in Winchester, Nevada, on the northern Las Vegas Strip. The resort is home to the world's largest permanent circus, with circus and trapeze acts and carnival games on its Carnival Midway. It also has the Adventuredome, an indoor amusement park that was added in 1993.
Jay Sarno and Stanley Mallin first owned the property, and the California firm Rissman and Rissman Associates designed it. Its doors opened on October 18, 1968, before any hotel existed, with a casino on the first floor and carnival games for children upstairs. Part of the building was a circus tent structure of steel and concrete, with a tent-shaped roof that rose 90 feet. Sarno explained the double name by saying he dropped a Roman circus theme for a circus like the familiar one.
The lack of a hotel was one reason it struggled in its early years. In 1972 it gained a 15-story tower holding 409 rooms, and in 1975 another 15-story tower. A 29-story tower followed in 1986. Three years after the amusement park arrived, a 35-story tower was completed. The hotel has 3,767 rooms. In 2019, MGM sold the resort to Phil Ruffin, a Las Vegas casino owner.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 1100 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 16 mm | 1:6,875 |
| 200 mm | 20 mm | 1:5,500 |

- Domed roofs and ribbing
- The big domes carry fine ribs. Full detail keeps them on larger prints; at small sizes, Print friendly adapts them to the scale. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the curved surfaces smooth.
- Tall hotel towers
- The hotel towers rise well above the low wings and domes. Printing slowly with good cooling helps the upper floors come out clean.
- One piece with the ground
- Circus Circus Las Vegas is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Circus Circus Las Vegas takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
