Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Open-frame tower

The tower is an open frame with thin railings and ladders. Print friendly adapts these to the print scale; Full detail on a larger print keeps more, and slow printing helps the tall thin parts.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Cold Spring Harbor Light is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Cold Spring Harbor Light takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Cold Spring Harbor Light

Cold Spring Harbor Light, a lighthouse, stood on the north shore of Long Island, New York. Completed in 1890, its purpose was to mark a shoal at the harbor's entrance. Funding of $20,000 was appropriated on March 3, 1875, construction began in 1889, and the light, standing on a caisson, was first lit on January 31, 1890.

The lamp was changed to oil vapor in 1929, and in 1965 the light went out of service, replaced by an automated light tower. A local resident bought the old structure for $1 and had it moved to land a mile (1.6 km) southwest, to be set up again on private property. Meanwhile an automated tower with a day beacon went up on the original caisson and serves as a navigation aid.
