172 m of the Continental Bank Building, 46 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Plain stepped tower
With few ornaments, the shape reads through its setbacks and window grid. A layer height of 0.12-0.16 mm keeps the setback edges crisp, and a larger print keeps the window rhythm.
- One piece with the ground
The Continental Bank Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Continental Bank Building takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Continental Bank Building
The Continental Bank Building is a skyscraper in the Art Deco style at 30 Broad Street, in Manhattan's Financial District, beside the New York Stock Exchange Building. In 1929 it was announced as a home for the Continental Bank and Trust Company, along with assorted brokers, and Cross and Cross were named as its planners. Occupancy began on April 27, 1932.
Its architects described the design as simple, meant to show business of the highest class in a straightforward way, free of excessive ornament. The tower is 564 feet (172 m) tall, measured from the street. The first three stories are limestone, and the rest is light-colored brick with dark brick at the spandrels. The first setback is at the 20th floor and another at the 23rd, and the flat top has no ornament.
One unusual feature was a clearing house in the sub-basement, where owner-tenants each had floor space and could exchange receipts through pneumatic tubes. The estimated cost was $20 million, and this was the biggest single cooperative building venture attempted up to then. In the 1954 film Sabrina, the address appears as the "Larrabee Building".
