12 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Cupola and cross
A small cupola with a cross rises from the roof. Print friendly adapts thin parts to your print scale; Full detail keeps the cross, better at a larger size. Printing slowly helps.
- Ribbed pitched roof
Fine parallel ribs run down the roof slopes. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps those lines crisp.
- One piece with the ground
Corpus Christi Church is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Corpus Christi Church takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Corpus Christi Church
The Church of Corpus Christi belongs to the Archdiocese of New York as a Catholic parish church. Its address is West 121st Street, between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway, in Manhattan's Morningside Heights. The parish dates from 1906, and Rev. John H. Dooley founded the church. The nearby Church of Notre Dame and the parish merged in 2022.
The first buildings, put up in 1906 and 1907 to designs by F. A. de Meuron, were a brick and stone chapel and a three-story parish house, built for $45,000. On November 11, 1906 the cornerstone went in, and Archbishop John Farley dedicated the structure on June 30, 1907. In 1930 these gave way to a new church and rectory. Dedication of the existing church, school and convent took place on October 25, 1936, and the baptistery survives from the original 1906 church.
Though its classical exterior is described as unimpressive, the interior is widely admired, and Time Out New York has called it "gorgeous." The school of the parish opened in September 1907 staffed by Sisters of Charity of New York, and it closed in 2020. Thomas Merton was baptized in the church on November 16, 1938.
