23 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A slim clock tower
A slim, four-sided clock tower rises above the office wing at one corner. Slow printing and cooling help the tall narrow top, and 0.12-0.16 mm layers keep its edges crisp.
- Low wing beside a tall block
A broad low wing runs beside the taller office block, with small rooftop details. Print friendly adapts these to your scale; Full detail suits larger prints.
- One piece with the ground
The Dollar Savings Bank Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Dollar Savings Bank Building takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Dollar Savings Bank Building
Dollar Savings Bank Building, a former bank at 2516-2530 Grand Concourse in Fordham, the Bronx, was built in three phases, from 1932 to 1952, for the bank that gave it its name. Adolf L. Muller, who worked with Halsey, McCormack & Helmer, designed it. The motifs are Art Deco, but its overscaled proportions and monolithic granite slabs are more typical of classical architecture.
At the south end is a low banking wing, one to four stories high, and at the north end is an office wing of 10 stories. The banking wing has a granite front that stretches 150 feet (46 m) across its Grand Concourse side, with an entrance pavilion at each end. The office wing is granite below and brick with architectural terracotta above. Rising another 50 feet (15 m) above its roof at the northwest corner is a four-faced clock tower, and each clock face is 12 feet (3.7 m) across.
Inside, the banking hall is a double-height space with no columns, with classical decoration and five murals on Bronx themes. The land once belonged to the estate of John Valentine, and the bank acquired it in 1932. The banking hall's first section opened in 1933; later expansions came in 1937-1938 and 1949-1952. The facade and interior carry New York City landmark designation, and the building has a National Register of Historic Places listing.
