Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Thin antenna spire

A slender spire rises from the roof. Print friendly adapts thin parts like this to the print scale; Full detail keeps the spire as modeled, which works best on larger prints printed slowly.

  2. Dense surroundings

Taller towers crowd the building in the model, so only its upper part shows clearly. A larger print size and a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keep its crown legible.

  3. One piece with the ground

The DuMont Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The DuMont Building takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the DuMont Building

In Midtown Manhattan, at the corner of Madison Avenue and 53rd Street, the DuMont Building carries the address 515 Madison Avenue. It has 42 stories and reaches 162 m (532 ft). John H. Carpenter built it in a blend of Art Deco and neo-Gothic styles, from a design by his brother J.E.R. Carpenter, an architect whose other work includes Lincoln Tower and close to 125 buildings on Fifth Avenue and Park Avenue.

A broadcasting antenna is among its most notable features. It dates back to Allen B. DuMont's experimental station W2XWV, whose first television broadcasts in 1938 involved the building. The station received a commercial license in 1944 as WABD, a name drawn from DuMont's initials. In 1958, Columbia University's radio station, WKCR-FM, started broadcasting from the old WABD tower on the roof. It remained there until 1977, when it moved its transmitter to the World Trade Center, a move made necessary because other skyscrapers rising around the building had started to interfere with its signal.

About this model

The DuMont Building is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
