11 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 1200 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Domes and cupolas
The model carries one large shallow dome, many small cupolas and octagonal corner drums. On a small print, Print friendly adapts the fine dome faceting and finial; a larger print holds their curves better.
- Open arcades and portico
The entrance portico and linking arcades are open, with piers and a recessed wall behind. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm help keep those arch openings and the small rooftop domes crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi
In Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental is a five-star hotel. It opened in 2005 and was first run by Kempinski; Mandarin Oriental took over its operation in 2020. After that change of management, the building was renovated over two years.
WATG Architects designed the building, combining modern construction with Islamic ideas: symmetry, geometric patterns and a hierarchical emphasis. One patterned dome marks the center, with 114 smaller domes spread over the building, and the exterior color draws on Arabian Desert sand.
The Belgian company BESIX started construction in December 2001. The project cost about US$3 billion, making it third among the most expensive hotels ever built, after the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and after Marina Bay Sands. It contains 92 suites and 22 residential suites among its 390 residences, along with two spas, more than 40 meeting rooms and a 1.3 km beach.
