About The Exchange 106
The Exchange 106, called Menara Exchange 106 in Malay, is a supertall skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur that used to go by the name TRX Signature Tower. It rises 454 m (1,490 ft). From its completion it was the tallest building in Malaysia, until Merdeka 118 passed it in November 2023. It is the second-tallest in Malaysia, behind Merdeka 118, and in Southeast Asia two buildings are taller.
The floor area totals 453,885 m2 (that is, 4,886,000 sq ft), which puts it second among Malaysian skyscrapers by that measure. The net lettable area is 240,000 square meters (2.6 million square feet), with column-free floors of 2,600 to 3,200 m2 (that is, 28,000 to 34,000 square feet) in size. The tower anchors the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), a new financial district. An underground station, Tun Razak Exchange MRT, sits on the site and is one of two places where the Kajang and Putrajaya MRT lines meet.
Management of the project fell to the Mulia Group, while structural construction was handled by China State Construction Engineering Corporation, working through its Malaysian arm. Groundwork started on March 1, 2016. That May, pouring the foundation concrete took one weekend, making it the world's second-largest continuous pour. The building topped out structurally in December 2017, 19 months into the build, averaging 3 days per floor. In September 2019, the Certificate of Completion and Compliance was achieved.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 122 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 153 mm | 1:3,000 |
| 256 mm | 195 mm | 1:2,344 |

- A tall, slim shaft
- The square tower is very tall for its width. Print slowly with good cooling; a larger print size makes the shaft sturdier.
- A layered crown
- The top steps inward in thin layers under a shallow pyramid cap. Print friendly adapts these ledges to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print, ideally with 0.12–0.16 mm layers.
- One piece with the ground
- The Exchange 106 is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Exchange 106 takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
The Exchange 106 is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a The Exchange 106 STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. The Exchange 106 grows with the print: about 122 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
