  2. One piece with the ground

Funerary complex of Sultan Barquq is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Funerary complex of Sultan Barquq takes the building color.

About Funerary complex of Sultan Barquq

Located in Cairo's historic district, in Egypt, the Funerary complex of Sultan Barquq is an Islamic religious complex. Sultan al-Zahir Barquq, the first ruler of the Mamluk Burji line, commissioned it. Like most Mamluk foundations it served several functions. Its foundation deed describes a Friday mosque, a madrasa for 125 students, and a khanqah (a hospice) for sixty Sufis. A domed mausoleum chamber is attached.

The complex stands on al-Mu'izz street in an area called Bayn al-Qasrayn, right beside two earlier monuments: Sultan Qalawun's funerary complex together with the Madrasa of Al-Nasir Muhammad. Together they form a long, continuous line of religious complexes. Construction began in December 1384 and finished in April 1386, after existing buildings on the site, including a caravanserai, were demolished. Ahmad al-Tuluni was the master builder, and reportedly only paid workers were employed.

The eastern iwan holds the main prayer hall, covered by a single wooden roof that is the largest in Mamluk architecture. Its richly painted and carved ceiling is considered an outstanding feature. The mausoleum dome was originally made of wood and was rebuilt in brick in 1893. Barquq himself later preferred a new mausoleum in Cairo's Northern Cemetery, which his son Faraj completed, though he ended up buried in a different funerary complex.
