11 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Ornate roofline
The decorated parapet along the roofline is fine detail on a modest building. A larger print keeps it readable, and a layer height of 0.12-0.16 mm keeps the edges crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Germania Bank Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Germania Bank Building takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Germania Bank Building
Standing at 190 Bowery, the Germania Bank Building occupies the northwest corner at Spring Street, in Manhattan. It was the bank's third building; the Germania Bank began in New York City in 1869. Robert Maynicke designed it, in either a Renaissance Revival or a Beaux Arts style, and it was built in 1898-99. New York City designated it a landmark on March 29, 2005. Its upper floors once held studios for artists including Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
The building has six stories of brick carried on steel girders above a concrete basement. Maine granite covers the Bowery and Spring Street facades, with a rusticated base of deep-set windows under rounded arches and banded stonework above. A copper parapet runs along the roofline in the manner of a classical sima, decorated with anthemia, rosettes and waves. The principal entrance occupies an angled corner bay, with a projecting portico on bluestone steps, Tuscan columns and wrought-iron gates.
Local businessmen set up the bank in 1869, in what was then the German-American neighborhood of Kleindeutschland. It bought three lots here in December 1896, and on January 3, 1898, plans were filed for a freestanding, fireproof building. Marc Eidlitz's firm built it for around $200,000, and the bank opened for business on January 3, 1899. In early 1918 it became the Commonwealth Bank.
