5 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Ornate tiered towers
The rooftop towers are small, stacked and heavily decorated. Print friendly simplifies them at small sizes; Full detail on a larger print keeps more of their layered carving.
- Slow printing on the rooflines
Cooling and slow speeds help the narrow tower tops hold their shape. Layers of 0.12-0.16 mm keep the stepped outlines crisp.
- One piece with the ground
Hindu Temple Society of North America is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Hindu Temple Society of North America takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Hindu Temple Society of North America
A nonprofit organization manages the temple of Sri Maha Vallabha Ganapati Devasthanam in Flushing, Queens, New York City. Its main deity is Ganesha, which gives it the name Ganesha Temple. Among Hindu temples in the United States that Indian immigrants built, it ranks second-oldest.
The society was established in 1970. One of its founders, Alagappa Alagappan, had hosted members' meetings in his living room. It bought land that had held a Russian Orthodox church and put a traditional Hindu temple there. Construction was completed in 1977, with the consecration ceremony on July 4, 1977. The exterior drew on the face of traditional Hindu temples in South India, and the temple was reconsecrated in 2009.
Many other sacred images are consecrated inside, including Venkateswara, Lakshmi, Shiva, Parvati, Durga, Saraswati and Hanuman. A vegetarian restaurant named Temple Canteen sits below ground level, and the temple opened the Ganesha Patasala for youth activities in October 1998, with classes in subjects such as mathematics, linguistics, religion, bhajanams and dance.
