35 m of the Holy Resurrection Cathedral, 10 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Domed church details
On a domed church, small roof and wall details are the first to soften at a small print size. Print friendly adapts them; Full detail keeps them for a larger print or a finer nozzle.
- One piece with the ground
The Holy Resurrection Cathedral is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Holy Resurrection Cathedral takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Holy Resurrection Cathedral
Holy Resurrection Cathedral, often called Nikorai-do, is the Japanese Orthodox Church's main cathedral. It stands in Chiyoda, Tokyo, on a hill at Kanda Surugadai that overlooked the Imperial Palace. Archbishop Nicholas Kasatkin, who became St. Nicholas of Japan, established the Japanese Orthodox Church and picked the site. He traveled through Russia to raise money for the building.
Michael A. Shchurupov planned the cathedral, Josiah Conder designed it, and Nagasato Taisuke built it. Construction began seven years before its completion on March 8, 1891. Its Byzantine design and the singular sound of its bell appeared in the writing and pictures of the era. The September 1923 Great Kantō earthquake seriously damaged the building; the main bell tower toppled onto the dome and collapsed it.
Archbishop Sergius, who succeeded St. Nicholas, led the rebuilding; with Russia no longer a source of funding, money was raised within Japan, including through concerts by the cathedral choir under Victor A. Pokrovsky. The cathedral was re-consecrated on December 15, 1929. It had a shorter bell tower, a changed dome and a less ornate interior, following a design by Okada Shinichiro. In 1962 it gained Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property status.
