Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Railings and lantern

Thin railings circle the lantern and roof parapets, and a small finial tops the lantern. Print friendly adapts these thin parts to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print. Printing slowly helps.

  2. Block-patterned base

The base shows fine block courses and arched windows. A layer height of 0.12-0.16 mm and a bigger print size keep them crisp.

  3. One piece with the ground

Huntington Harbor Light is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Huntington Harbor Light takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Huntington Harbor Light

Huntington Harbor Light, once called Lloyd Harbor Lighthouse, sits off Long Island, New York, in Huntington Bay. A first lighthouse went up in 1857 on the point of Lloyd's Neck, to help ships find shelter in Lloyd Harbor from wind and waves. It did little for vessels heading into the neighboring Huntington Harbor, so a new lighthouse was built in 1912 to serve that harbor.

The 1912 tower was unusual in both design and construction. Its Beaux-Arts styling gives it the look of a small castle, and its reinforced concrete foundation and structure were unique to the area. Builders cast the foundation on land nearby, floated it out and sank it at the site. The tower received a fifth order Fresnel lens in 1912, the year it was first lit.

The Lighthouse Service staffed the tower from 1912 until 1939, and the Coast Guard took over from then. Automation came in 1949, and the empty building began to deteriorate. A 1983 survey judged it unsafe for crews and too costly to repair, and the Coast Guard weighed demolition and a steel tower. In 1985 local citizens formed Save Huntington's Lighthouse, the first private group in the nation to succeed in assuming control of and restoring an offshore lighthouse.
