17 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Open columns under the dome
The domed cupola on the corner stands on a ring of thin columns. Print friendly adapts thin parts to your print scale; Full detail keeps every column, better at a larger size.
- Tall, narrow tower
The building is slim for its height. Printing slowly helps, and a layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps the window rows and cornice lines crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Jarmulowsky Bank Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Jarmulowsky Bank Building takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Jarmulowsky Bank Building
Also known as Nine Orchard, the Jarmulowsky Bank Building is a 12-story building at Canal and Orchard Streets on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Lafayette A. Goldstone and William Lawrence Rouse, architects, designed it in the Beaux-Arts style, and it was built in 1912. Limestone covers its lower stories, with architectural terracotta above.
Sender Jarmulowsky founded the Jarmulowsky Bank in 1873. Two years after the building was finished, World War I began, German investors pulled out money to send to relatives overseas, and the resulting run on the bank brought its failure. Until 1990 a tempietto stood on top, 50 feet high, with a dome ringed by eagles and a design modeled on the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates. Local legend holds that it was added so the building would rise above the nearby Jewish Daily Forward headquarters.
Sing May Realty renovated the building in 1990 and the tempietto was destroyed. In 2013 DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners revealed plans for a hotel conversion. In 2014 the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission gave approval for a replica tempietto, finished by early 2020, and the Nine Orchard hotel opened in the building in June 2022.
