About the King Hussein Mosque

King Hussein Bin Talal Mosque, usually called the King Hussein Mosque, is both a mosque and a religious museum in Amman, the capital of Jordan. No other mosque in Jordan is larger. It dates from 2005, during the reign of King Abdullah II, and sits in West Amman, inside Al Hussein Public Parks, along King Abdullah II Street by the King Hussein Medical Center. At an altitude of 1,013 meters (3,323 ft) above sea level, it is visible from most parts of Amman. The building is square and has four minarets and marble floors.

Inside the mosque is the Prophet Mohammad Museum, a religious museum about Muhammad. It opened on May 15, 2012, with King Abdullah II officiating. Among the items described as his alleged belongings are a single hair from his beard, a letter he wrote to the Byzantine emperor, and a sapling of the Sahabi Tree, from a tree in the desert of Jordan, where a tradition says Muhammad rested.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 13 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 16 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 20 mm 1:2,344

Four slim corner minarets
A tall minaret with a small domed top stands at each corner. Printing slowly and using layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm helps keep their tops crisp.
Arcades and a toothed parapet
Rows of arches run along the walls under a parapet with small teeth, with several small domes on the roof. Print friendly adapts these to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print.
One piece with the ground
The King Hussein Mosque is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The King Hussein Mosque takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Common questions

Is there a King Hussein Mosque STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. The King Hussein Mosque grows with the print: about 13 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
