About Kingdom Centre

Kingdom Centre, once called Kingdom Tower, is a skyscraper rising 302.3 m (992 ft) in Riyadh's al-Olaya district, Saudi Arabia. It took the title of tallest tower in Saudi Arabia in 2002 from Faisaliah Tower, which stands 267 m (876 ft). Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal developed it, and Ellerbe Becket and Omrania, working as a team, designed it after being selected through an international design competition. The site covers 100,000 square meters.

The building is made up of a tower and a podium of two symmetrical wings. The tower has an almond-shaped plan, with its narrow ends pointing toward the east and west sides, which gain the most heat, and that helps keep it cool. In the upper third, a public skybridge, a 300-ton steel structure, sits atop an inverted parabolic arch. The large opening lets the building rise higher than the local limit of 30 occupied floors. Its design drew inspiration from the Eiffel Tower, the Gateway Arch in St. Louis and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and it is nicknamed the "bottle opener".

The tower contains the King Abdullah Mosque, which sits higher above the ground than any other mosque in the world. The Al-Mamlaka shopping mall in the east wing has more than 150 stores across three levels, and the west wing holds event and entertainment spaces. A tubular steel frame takes over above the first 180 meters, which are built with reinforced concrete columns, beams and a core.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 86 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 107 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 137 mm 1:2,344

Arch opening and thin skybridge
The tall tower narrows around a big arched opening, spanned by a thin skybridge at the top. Print slowly with good cooling, and use layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm to keep the arch edges crisp.
Very tall for its width
The tower is slender compared with its height. A larger print gives it more girth, and Print friendly adapts the thinnest parts to your print scale.
One piece with the ground
Kingdom Centre is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Kingdom Centre takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

Kingdom Centre is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there a Kingdom Centre STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Kingdom Centre grows with the print: about 86 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
