Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A huge vaulted roof

The long curved roof and its ribs dominate the model. Layers of 0.12-0.16 mm keep the curve smooth, and a larger print shows the ribs better.

  2. Slender corner turrets

The small turrets at the front are thin and pointed. Print slowly with cooling, or choose Print friendly to adapt them at small sizes.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Kingsbridge Armory is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Kingsbridge Armory takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Kingsbridge Armory

In the Bronx’s Kingsbridge Heights, the Kingsbridge Armory (also called the Eighth Regiment Armory) stands where Jerome Avenue meets West Kingsbridge Road. It was built in the 1910s to a design by the firm of Lewis Pilcher, who was then the state architect, to be home to the Eighth Coast Defense Command of the New York National Guard. That regiment-sized unit moved from Manhattan in 1917. It may be the largest armory in the world.

The complex covers nearly a whole 5-acre (2.0 ha) block, bounded by West Kingsbridge Road, Jerome Avenue, West 195th Street and Reservoir Avenue. An empty moat lies across the front entrance, and the building can be seen from the Kingsbridge Road subway station above Jerome Avenue.

It has also served as a venue for exhibitions and boxing matches, and as a film set. Once World War II was over, the city offered the building to the United Nations for temporary meetings. The city landmarked it in 1974, and the National Register of Historic Places listed it eight years later. Its military use ended in 1996, when it passed into city management.

About this model

The Kingsbridge Armory is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
