  1. Chimneys and small windows

The roof carries two small chimneys and the long walls have many small windows. Full detail keeps them, while Print friendly simplifies them at small sizes; a 0.12 mm layer height keeps the window rows crisp.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Lorillard Snuff Mill is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Lorillard Snuff Mill takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Lorillard Snuff Mill

The Lorillard Snuff Mill is the oldest tobacco manufacturing building still standing in the United States. It was put up around 1840 beside the Bronx River as an addition to an earlier building that did the same work, and its walls are made of schist quarried nearby. It stands inside the New York Botanical Garden, which is a National Historic Landmark in its own right.

Pierre Abraham Lorillard started the Lorillard firm in 1760. After he was killed in the American Revolutionary War, his sons Peter and George ran the business and moved its manufacturing side to this spot in the Bronx in 1792. The company and family left in 1870 for Jersey City. New York City bought the land in 1884, then passed it to the Botanical Garden in 1915.

Renovation work took place on the mill in 1952-54, when a cafe and patio were added on the lower side facing the river and a meeting room was made from the space that once held the snuff-grinding equipment. A $10.5 million restoration followed in 2010. National Historic Landmark status came in 1977.
