Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Dormers in a sloped roof

A row of small dormers sits in the sloped roof at the top of the house. Print friendly adapts thin parts like these to the print scale; Full detail keeps them for larger prints.

  2. Narrow house between tall neighbors

Taller buildings crowd both sides, so only a narrow strip of the house shows. A larger print size and a layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm help that strip stay readable.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Lucy Drexel Dahlgren House is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Lucy Drexel Dahlgren House takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Lucy Drexel Dahlgren House

The Lucy Drexel Dahlgren House stands on the northern side of East 96th Street in Manhattan, at number 15, in the block between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue. It was built for Lucy Wharton Drexel Dahlgren as a private house in 1915–16, and at one time it housed a convent. The house sits on the border of Carnegie Hill, the Upper East Side and East Harlem, inside the Upper East Side Historic District.

Ogden Codman Jr. designed the house in a French Renaissance Revival or Beaux Arts manner, modeled on a 19th-century French townhouse. It is rectangular in form and 5½ stories high. On 96th Street the facade rises 3½ stories, divided into three bays and faced with rusticated limestone, with three dormer windows in a slate mansard roof. It is one of three structures on its block that Codman designed.

Unlike other American residences, the main entrance did not lead straight into the house. The west side of the ground floor holds a porte-cochère, an outdoor courtyard and a garage, and a garage is a relative rarity for a Manhattan house. The garage has an automobile turntable able to rotate a car a quarter turn (90 degrees) onto an elevator to the basement. Inside are 37 rooms, eleven bathrooms and seven fireplaces.
