6 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Cupola and dormers
The rooftop cupola and the row of dormers are small, detailed parts. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps their edges crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Main Street School is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Main Street School takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Main Street School
The Main Street School, whose other name is the Landmark on Main Street, stands on Main Street in Port Washington, Nassau County, New York. It was built as a school and later took on new uses as a community center and a retirement home.
Completed in 1909, the school is Georgian Revival in style: two stories of brick with stone detailing, on a raised basement faced in cement stucco. A third story came with the 1917 expansion. A steep gable roof carries an ornamental cupola showing four clock faces, and five dormers with gables and round-headed windows pierce the roof.
The school district proposed the building because its existing schools were too small to work well as a high school. Residents approved a bond measure by a vote of 55 to 46, and the cornerstone was laid on September 21, 1908. In 1929 the district made it an elementary school, and it closed in 1985. The Town of North Hempstead then acquired it and created senior housing and a community center. It reached the National Register and the New York State Register in 1983, and became a designated landmark of the Town of North Hempstead on July 23, 1985.
