12 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Thin mast on the tower
A slim mast rises from the small rooftop tower. Print friendly adapts thin parts like this to the print scale; Full detail keeps it as modeled, which suits a larger print.
- Slender ground-floor columns
The building sits on a row of narrow columns at street level. A bigger print size and a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm help them print crisply.
- One piece with the ground
The Manhattan New York Temple is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Manhattan New York Temple takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Manhattan New York Temple
The Manhattan New York Temple is a temple of the LDS Church. Its site is the northeast corner where Broadway, Columbus Avenue and West 65th Street meet, opposite Lincoln Center. It is the first temple in New York City, and the state has one other, in Palmyra. Church president Gordon B. Hinckley announced the plan on August 7, 2002.
Rather than rising from bare ground, the temple was made by converting an existing church stake center building, a choice made after the church weighed property values in the area. The architect was Frank Fernandez, whose design is modern in style. Ground was broken on September 23, 2002, and Hinckley dedicated the temple on June 13, 2004, over four sessions.
The building stands six stories tall and is built with light, variegated granite. Its exterior features a steeple as well as a statue of the angel Moroni. Its design aims to represent the church while fitting in with nearby New York City landmarks such as Lincoln Center. Inside are a baptistry, along with two rooms for ordinances and two sealing rooms.
