14 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Large flat roof with rooftop units
The roof is a broad flat deck carrying small equipment boxes, and the facade is divided by piers and bands. Print friendly adapts the small boxes to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
The Merchants Refrigerating Company Warehouse is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Merchants Refrigerating Company Warehouse takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Merchants Refrigerating Company Warehouse
At 501 West 16th Street, also numbered 99 Tenth Avenue, in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, stands an 11-story industrial building: the Merchants Refrigerating Company Warehouse. John B. Snook & Sons designed it, and it was developed between 1916 and 1918 with simple Renaissance Revival decorations.
The footprint is about 330 feet by 200 feet (101 by 61 meters), filling a trapezoidal lot that takes up a full city block, between 16th and 17th Streets and between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues. Its facade mixes cast stone, buff brick, granite and terracotta, with brick piers separating the bays. Horizontal bands above the third and tenth floors split it into three layers.
It was built with very few windows to keep cold air in, and windows were later inserted between the bays. At completion it ranked as the world's largest refrigerated warehouse. After a sale in 1983 it was first proposed for conversion into a mall, then renovated as office space with windows added.
