Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Slim building between towers

The hall is a narrow slice between much taller neighbors, so little of it shows from most sides. Full detail and a larger print size help its railed roof and facade stay readable.

  2. One piece with the ground

Merkin Hall is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Merkin Hall takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Merkin Hall

With 449 seats, Merkin Hall is a concert hall in Manhattan that honors Hermann and Ursula Merkin in its name. It belongs to the Kaufman Music Center. Also in the complex are P.S. 859, the Special Music School, a public school in New York City for musically gifted children, and the Lucy Moses School, which is a community arts school.

The hall opened in 1978 in the Abraham Goodman House, then the home of The Hebrew Art School, and soon became an important New York City venue for innovative classical and new music. It has won three awards in Adventurous Programming from ASCAP and Chamber Music America. It stands in the Lincoln Square neighborhood, near the Lincoln Center campus but not affiliated with it. New Sounds Live has been a co-presentation of WNYC and the Kaufman Music Center since 1986.

A $17 million renovation campaign for the complex drew lead donors Elaine and Henry Kaufman, with a pledge of $7 million. The work restored the building facade with contemporary materials, redesigned the main entrance, added a pair of new classrooms and a flexible educational space on the balcony, and installed a new HVAC system.
