Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Tall, slim tower
The original tower is tall and narrow among its neighbors. Print slowly with good cooling, and use Full detail on a larger print to keep the slim outline of the tower crisp.
- One piece with the ground
Millennium Times Square New York is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Millennium Times Square New York takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Millennium Times Square New York
The hotel known as Millennium Times Square New York was once the Hotel Macklowe, then the Millennium Broadway. It sits on West 44th Street at numbers 133 and 145, in Midtown Manhattan's Theater District. It has 750 guest units and 33 rooms for conferences. A Broadway theater, the Hudson Theatre, is built into the hotel's base.
Two guestroom towers flank the Hudson Theatre. William Derman and Perkins & Will designed the original 48-story tower to the west, which stands 481 feet (147 m) tall according to the city's planning department. The 22-story annex to the east was designed by Stonehill & Taylor. The first seven stories of the original tower are stone in a classical style, chosen to complement the theater, while the upper stories are clad in dark glass.
Harry Macklowe developed the original tower as the Hotel Macklowe. In 1985 he illegally tore down four structures on the site, for which he was penalized, and he could not build there until 1987. The tower opened in early 1990, and its conference center took in the Hudson Theatre. Chemical Bank acquired the hotel through foreclosure in 1994, and CDL Hotels bought it and gave it the name Millennium Broadway. In 2017 the Hudson Theatre became a Broadway theater.
