About the Montville Schoolhouse

At 6 Taylortown Road in Montville Township, Morris County, New Jersey, stands a historic one-room schoolhouse of red brick. It dates from 1871 and replaced two earlier schoolhouses on the same site. On December 11, 2009 it joined the National Register of Historic Places, recognized for its importance in education and in politics and government.

Over the years the building has served several purposes. The Methodist Episcopal Church also used it. From 1911 to 1939, the township ran its first town hall there, and from 1943 to 1961 it held the post office. Since 1963 it has housed Montville Township's Historical Society and Museum.

Cupola and chimney
The small louvered cupola and the thin chimney are the most delicate parts of this tiny building. A larger print size and Full detail keep them; Print friendly strengthens them at small scale.
Brick-lined walls and windows
Fine horizontal lines mark the brick walls, and the arched windows are framed in relief. A layer height of 0.12 mm keeps these crisp.
One piece with the ground
The Montville Schoolhouse is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Montville Schoolhouse takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
