9 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Columned entrance portico
The central porch has slim columns under a small pediment. "Print friendly" adapts the thinnest parts to the print scale, while "Full detail" keeps them, which suits a larger print.
- Arched niches and chimneys
Arched niches line the facade, and chimneys rise from the steep roofs. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps the niches distinct on the facade.
- One piece with the ground
The Museum of the City of New York is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Museum of the City of New York takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Museum of the City of New York
MCNY, as the museum is known for short, is an art and history museum in Manhattan. Henry Collins Brown founded it in 1923 to keep and showcase the city's history and the story of its people. Its address is 1220–1227 Fifth Avenue, on the block from East 103rd to 104th Streets. The site faces Central Park, in Manhattan's Upper East Side, where Fifth Avenue's Museum Mile ends to the north.
The building is red brick with marble trim. Joseph H. Freedlander designed it in the neo-Georgian style, and sculptor Adolph Alexander Weinman made the figures of Alexander Hamilton and DeWitt Clinton, which stand in facade niches and face Central Park. The museum began in Gracie Mansion, where space was limited. A competition among five invited architects chose Freedlander's design, the city gave the site, and public subscription raised the construction funds. Plans were scaled back after the Wall Street crash of 1929, and it was dedicated on January 11, 1932.
The building became a New York City landmark on January 24, 1967. An extension that began with a groundbreaking on August 2, 2006 added a glass pavilion by the Polshek Partnership, a 280 m2 (3,000-square-foot) addition with two display levels. The collection holds over 1.5 million items and is particularly strong in objects dating to the 19th and early 20th centuries. It is a private non-profit that gets government support through the Cultural Institutions Group, which it belongs to.
About this model
The Museum of the City of New York is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release.
