12 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Rows of seats need size
An open ballpark is mostly a bank of seats around a flat field, and the seat rows are the smallest thing on it. Print it larger, or keep Print friendly detail, so those rows stay separate.
- Smooth the long curve
The rim of the stands runs a long way around the field. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm leave less stepping along that sweep.
- One piece with the ground
Nationals Park is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Nationals Park takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Nationals Park
Nationals Park, home of the Washington Nationals, is a baseball stadium beside the Anacostia River in the city's Navy Yard neighborhood. Finished in 2008, it was the first LEED-certified green stadium among the major professional sports venues of the United States. HOK Sport drew up the design with Devrouax & Purnell Architects and Planners, and the park seats 41,373.
The park stands on South Capitol Street, which separates Southeast from Southwest Washington, one block from the Navy Yard–Ballpark Metro stop on the Green Line, whose southern entrance was enlarged when the ballpark was built. The higher seats on the first base side look out to the Washington Monument and the Capitol. It staged the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in 2018, the first played in the city since 1969, and in 2019 it hosted World Series games 3, 4 and 5.
The cost was first put at $670 million and later at $693 million, financed almost entirely by the District, including a $135 million upfront payment from taxpayer funds, with the rest raised through municipal bonds. The first game at the park was a college meeting between George Washington University and Saint Joseph's University on March 22, 2008, and the Nationals beat the Atlanta Braves 3–2 in the first official Major League game on March 30.
