10 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Ornate front, plain sides
The arched, columned front and the mansard roof carry the small relief details. A larger print or Full detail with a fine nozzle and 0.12 mm layers keeps them crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The New Era Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The New Era Building takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the New Era Building
The New Era Building sits on Broadway in SoHo, Manhattan, at number 495, on the block between Spring Street and Broome Street. It was built in the Art Nouveau style, and is among the few Art Nouveau buildings left standing in Manhattan, possibly the earliest. It extends west through the block from Broadway, giving it a second front on Mercer Street.
Eight stories of brick and masonry rise above four squat, rounded Doric columns that appear to carry the lower five stories, which have three vertical rows of large windows divided by brickwork and iron ornamentation. Three large arches mark the sixth floor, and a two-story copper mansard roof, coated with verdigris, recalls Parisian architecture. The building has about 90,000 square feet (8,400 m2) of floor space.
The lofts were meant at first for the New Era Printing Company, but an office of Butler Brothers, an early mail-order company, soon moved in. A fire on December 29, 1927 began in the basement shipping room and did damage worth a million dollars, partly collapsing eight floors toward the Mercer Street side. Accounts disagree about who designed and developed it and when it was finished; the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission names Alfred Zucker and the year 1893.
About this model
The New Era Building is one of more than 4,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
