15 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Domes and minarets
The stacked domes and two minarets are the smallest details at print scale. Print friendly adapts thin parts and finials; Full detail keeps them for a large print or a fine nozzle.
- Courtyard and its domes
The courtyard arcade and its ring of small domes can merge at small sizes. A larger print preserves the arcade, and 0.12–0.16 mm layers keep the vertical detail crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The New Mosque, Istanbul is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The New Mosque, Istanbul takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the New Mosque, Istanbul
The New Mosque stands in the Eminönü quarter of Istanbul, beside the Golden Horn, at the Galata Bridge's southern end. It began in 1597 as the Valide Sultan Mosque, ordered by Safiye Sultan, who was married to Sultan Murad III and later became mother of Sultan Mehmed III. Work stopped after Mehmed III died in 1603, and the unfinished building was badly damaged in the Great Fire of 1660.
Turhan Sultan, who was mother to Sultan Mehmed IV, then took over the project. Construction resumed in late 1660, and the mosque was completed in 1663, with its inauguration following in 1665. It received the name New Valide Sultan Mosque, which the public later shortened to New Mosque. The complex also included the Spice Bazaar, whose construction began alongside the mosque.
The mosque carries 66 domes and half-domes in a pyramidal grouping, plus two minarets. The main dome rises 36 m (118 ft) and rests on four flanking semi-domes; its plan draws on the earlier Şehzade Mosque and on the Sultan Ahmed Mosque. A courtyard with a colonnaded peristyle and 24 small domes stands on the west side, with an ornamental ablution fountain at its center. Blue, green and white İznik tiles decorate the interior.
